Tour Itinerary

DAY 1Paro to Thimphu
Arriving at Paro airport, you will be greeted by a guide and your Bhutan adventures will begin.  Enjoy arriving at the beautiful capital city of Thimphu, a bustling modern city, with an abundance of restaurants, nightclubs and shopping centres, you can still enjoy the more traditional attractions with a visit to a chaotic market where you could buy artesanies or enjoy scenic sights from Kuenselcholing viewpoint.

DAY 2: Tango Monastery to Punakha-Wangdue Valley
This morning we get out and discover the more traditional aspect of Bhutan with a hike to the impressive Tango Monastery, hidden within the hills that surround the capital.  We then visit impressive buildings such as the Thangton Dewachen, a former nunnery; and the Memorial Charten, built in the name of the third Bhutanese king, who is regarded as the father of modern Bhutan. Afterwards we leave Thimphu behind us, passing by the scenic Dochula pass on your way to the Punakha-Wangdue valley, where we spend the night. 

DAY 3:  Punakha Dzong to Paro
Enjoy the day exploring the wonders of the valley at the Punakha Dzong. Have your cameras close by as we discover this incredible fortress, which was once used as the seat of the king, standing between two magnificent rivers, it is sure to take your breath away.  We then hike to the scared, Chimi Lhakhang, or the Temple of Fertility for some more breathtaking views. Afterwards we hit the road and head to beautiful Paro for some rest. 

DAY 4: The Taktshang Monastery (the Tiger’s Nest)
Spend the day exploring Bhutan’s most iconic landmark: The Taktshang Monastery, also known as the Tiger’s Nest.  This monastery perched on the edge of a steep hill is one of the most sacred religious sites in the country, and not to be missed.  In the afternoon we return to Paro, where you can spend the rest of the day exploring.  We then head to a local farmhouse to celebrate your last night, with a farm stay, giving you the opportunity to witness Bhutanese culture and traditions firsthand. 

DAY 5: Paro
Wake up to a fresh breakfast at the farmhouse, as a perfect way to farewell this stunning country.  Your guide will take you to the airport and guide you through all the necessary formalities before sending you off on your next adventure.
